IR Window

Certified by Underwriters Laboratories (E516454), the American Bureau of Shipping (21-2156486-PDA) and ExVeritas (21TEST0933) for both indoor and outdoor installations into NEMA 250-rated Type 4/12 equipment and EN60529:1992 + A2:2013 IP54-rated equipment, the ViPIRS infrared viewing pane complies with the latest industry standards, including IEEE (impact and load), UL50V, UL746C and UL94.

Unlike traditional IR Windows that rely upon ‘arc containment’ as a protection method, the ViPIRS infrared viewing pane incorporate a unique BLASTDOWN® arc-flash pressure relief system. Rather than attempting to contain the extreme overpressures created by an electric arc flash, the ViPIRS BLASTDOWN® system channels the energy through dedicated vents in the base of the frame.

The next-generation composite polymer optic used in the ViPIRS infrared viewing pane is compatible with the latest thermal imaging technology. You get an unparalleled field of view and image clarity thanks to its mesh reinforced polymer composite. Historically, infrared viewing panes comprising optics with transmissive polymers had to rely upon metallic mesh on one or both sides of the polymer sheet to comply with safety requirements. These twin mesh sheets resulted in potential image clarity and vignetting effect problems due to poor mesh alignment and angled imaging.

The ViPIRS infrared viewing pane composite optic uses a single mesh embedded within the polymer itself, creating a robust infrared transmissive optic that complies with the latest codes and standards but without issues associated with mesh alignment image distortion. With a smooth face on both sides of the optic, it is simple to clean and maintain ensuring maximum image quality and field of view.
